Millie’s Digest: Nearly 3 months old!
It’s natural at this time of year to start to get reflective and in some ways, 3 months feel like so little time. But it has also flown by!
As every day passes, we meet more and more amazing dogs and their pawrents and some very fab cat mums and dads too! We’re working out what works, and what doesn’t work, and continually taking stock to ensure we are providing what you both want and need.
As always we are more than open to ideas, suggestions and feedback. So if after reading through our Millie’s Digest, you have the urge to drop us a note in the comments – please do so!!
Anyho – enough reminiscing from me, back to our fortnightly gossip:

Christmas and New Year Opening Times
I’ve popped a post and pinned it to the top of our Facebook page so that you have easy access to our opening hours throughout the festive period. We have no plans to close outside of the bank holidays and will be open Sunday and Mondays through to Christmas.
You can also find it just below ;0)
Just an early heads up that we will be closed for four days w/c 8th January (8th/9th/10th/11th) but will be touching base with all of our regular food customers to ensure you are all stocked up ;0)
2018 Events
I’m busy working with some fab businesses to run some pop-up events in the shop during 2018, like our last event with Impressive Memories. The first of which will be with Mutleys Snaps who we LURVE. Check out their FB page and stunning photography and I’ll be back with details in the New Year.
As above – jump into the comments if you’d like to see us run any particular events!
What I’ve Been Reading:
I love this article from The Guardian which talks about whether owning a dog is good for your health. I’ve written about my own experiences with this on my blog “How A Dog Can Change Your Life” but I love the data that this article is based on. The stats are staggering!
I’ve also recently subscribed to DogFriendly magazine. As someone who is always on the hunt for a new adventure with Millie, and dog-friendly venues and good accommodation can be hard to discover, this is a magazine packed full of fab ideas. Check out their Facebook Page for a little insight but perhaps a timely issue for when the January blues kick in and you want to start planning those 2018 holidays!
What’s In Millie’s Shopping Cart:
Ok, I admit it. There has been a LOT of stuff falling into Millie’s cart over these last few weeks.
She’s been testing our new Yaker’s, Nerf Guns and also fab DogRobes which we’ll be stocking very very shortly. BUT most importantly, you may have spotted that she is a proud new investor in BrewDog. Yep, we jumped in and joined their Equity for Pups which you can read about over on the BLOG HERE.
You only have until midnight tonight to get involved so do be quick – otherwise, why not take a trip to BrewDog in Dundee to test out exactly how super dog-friendly they are!
Now I wonder what else will fall into her ‘must have’ list before Christmas!?!?!?!? Let me know if you have any suggestions for our chief tester to try out!
Our Must Visit Business of The Month:
Gather
If you haven’t heard, Bethany is now open in her new shop (25-27 Dundee Street, DD7 7PB – formerly the Floor Studio). I am ecstatic to see how her vision has come to life and would suggest stopping by to view the transformation.
While there is still have a bit of work to do before they can fully open the cafe, she is now set up for takeaway coffee and brownies. But not just any coffee and brownies, oh no! These are the BEST coffee and brownies! Seriously. I’ve have tested a few over the last week!
Even more excitingly and that you may not know is… that she has the most amazing plans for ensuring the cafe is super dog-friendly!! I’ll let her share all the small details but well….. we are more than a TAD excited!
And, Finally……. Can You Help Donate A Christmas Dinner?
Finally – We were thrilled that Wallace Vets were kind enough to let us join their annual collection drive to collect as many donations as possible for Animal Rescue Centre Arbroath and Angus Cat Rescue.
Thanks to everyone who has already dropped in a special Christmas dinner and treats so far too!
You can read all about this great cause over on the Wallace Vets blog here and details of where you can drop off donations too!
Until the next Millie’s Digest.. have a Merry Woofmas!!
Vicky (and Millie too) xx
