Hey all – as we’ve been on our hollibobs, it’s been a slightly quieter week. BUT it was so good to get back into the shop yesterday and see everyone! Here’s a quick roundup from this week:
What’s Been Going on At Millie’s Pet Services?
#1 Can You Help Us Create Our Valentines’s Window?
I promise it will take two seconds as all we’d like to know is – what do you love the most about your FURiend? I have a pile of pink post it’s and we’ll be displaying all of the things your pet loves in our main window! So … let us know what you really love about that cat or dog in your life and their name and age too. You can drop into the comments below or check out what others are saying over in this Facebook Post too.
#2 Proposed Change to Our Opening Days
While away I’ve been giving some thought to our opening hours and dates and considering changing these. At the moment we are open Tues-Sat but giving consideration to change to Mon, Wed-Sat from the beginning of February. While I’d love to be open 7 days longer term, it seems to make sense to align with everyone’s long weekends and some other high street businesses in Carnoustie. I popped a quick poll on Facebook HERE and would be more than grateful if you have two seconds to let me know your views!
#3 FURSday Blog
Earlier this week, I was tagged in a question on Facebook where someone was looking for a dog groomer (huge thank you for all the recommendations!). It’s a question that comes up time and time again in the Carnoustie forums, so I thought we’d start with a quick roundup of all the dog groomers in Carnoustie and their contact details. I’ll publish the Angus list asap.
#4 Sunday Bites
This weeks recipe involves no cooking/baking! How cool is that!?!?! Yep, it’s our no-bake peanut butter and pumpkin ball recipe!
#5 Next Available Grooming Dates
We have two appointments left next week. Thursday 18th at 4 pm and Saturday 20th at 3.15 pm. Do just hit reply or give us a call on 01241 857893.
What I’ve Been Reading:
The Kennel Club are still looking for their Friend For LIfe with entries closing on the 21st January. You can find out all the details HERE and with five categories, maybe you know a FURiend that deserves one of these awards?
I was so so sad to read in this article that Piper, a border collie who kept an airport safe for years, had passed away. My friend Chris had only just recently shared this video with me that shows the work that the amazing Piper does (just click on the image to view the 3 min video). One very special dog and I love how much he seems to LOVE his job!!
What’s in Millie’s Shopping Cart:
We’ve been shopping a lot less still post Christmas, particularly when we’ve yet to try out that NERF Gun (I promise there will be photos!) BUT both Millie and Harley will be celebrating their fourth birthday on Tuesday. I know!!! Where did that time go!?!?!
So there may have been a Barking Bakery birthday cake and some party gear purchased. But well, they are both a little bit nosey. So I best not reveal too much here this week until after the big day!
If you spot me in Visions buying birthday balloons, you’ll know why!!
Our Must Visit Business of The Week – Unilite:
Millie, Harley and I have just returned from a week at The Stables, one of four amazing individual dog-friendly properties that form part of a new barn conversion. Just three miles from the gorgeous Scottish Borders town of Melrose and bang in the middle of lots of doggy walks!
I won’t spoil it and save the full review for next week’s FURSday blog BUT I’d def recommend checking them out (and they have some great winter offers on at the moment). You can find them on Facebook HERE.
Until the next Millie’s Digest.. have a fab week!
Vicky (and Millie too) xx
