Whether you setting New Years Resolutions around finances or just trying to work out ways to make those pennies go further, then there’s no denying that owning a dog comes with a cost.

That cost can amount to up to £30,000 over their lifetime, though both you and I know they are worth it, aren’t they!

But just because we love to spoil our dog, doesn’t mean that we can’t also save money whilst doing so.   And with 2020 creating financial uncertainty for many, you might now be wondering how to save money as a dog owner in January (and beyond!).

 

 

 

What is Save-Uary?

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been reflecting a lot on 2020.

It’s pretty hard to describe our year, though one word that stands out is reactive.

At one point, the news seemed to shift hourly, and my immediate priority was to ensure we had a business to survive the storm if and when things settled.

While this made us flex, pivot and respond to your needs, I am conscious that we neglected our blog and content that helps you as a dog owner.

That’s why this year, our main goal is to change that!  We know it can be difficult to navigate the huge amount of information out there around dog ownership  – I struggle with it, so suspect you do too!

So this year, we’re creating 12 themes – one for each month in 2021 where we’ll spend the month talking about them in-depth.

Think tips, ideas and answers to questions about each ‘theme’ each month across our social media accounts, our blog and email too.

 

 

Our January Focus:  How to Save Money as a Dog Owner (Save-Uary)

You really can’t talk about January without talking about two things – Money and Diets ;0)

So this month, we’re going to go deep on saving on money as a dog owner.

If you know us by now, this isn’t going to be all about comprising on quality.  From vet bills to food choices, pet insurance and toys.  We don’t believe you need to always compromise on quality to save money and we hope throughout the month, we’ll show you how.

Whether you want to put those pennies away for a rainy day or spend them on more goodies for your furiend, we hope by the end of this month, you’ll be armed with lots of ways to do so!
