Angus Business Award Finalist: Best Angus Pet Care and Groomers

When you’ve been open just over a week and a representative walks in from Scotlands Business Awards, you immediately assume that they are a dog owner.   But no, after a little chat about our opening, I was informed that we’d been nominated and shortlisted as Best Angus Pet Care and Groomers.

What are the Scotlands Business Awards?

Scotlands Business Awards runs a yearly awards ceremony normally in Glasgow, highlighting the achievements of businesses across Scotland.

There are 12 regional qualifying stages that run all year round.  Each category winner per region goes forward to the annual Grand Final.

Other categories include Best Hair Salon, Best Cafe and many, many more!

How are regional winners decided?

Nominations run all year round with the awards organisers using a number of additional pieces of information to create a shortlist.   During this stage, they look at how easy is it for customers to contact the business, opening hours, availability and presentation of the business premises.

Having been shortlisted an online vote takes place where customers, friends, family and staff can help support.  This is just one part of the decision though as of equal importance are the mystery shopper visits and the organisers own visits to our business.

You can find full details of the Scotlands Business Awards HERE and you can help support us by voting online HERE (just enter Millie’s Pet Services).

Best Angus Pet Care and Groomers: Next Steps

We have now been invited to attend the Angus Business Awards evening which takes place at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Sunday 29th October.  And nope, I haven’t solved the ‘what to wear’ problem ;0).

At the moment I’m not aware of all of the other individuals in my category but I am looking forward to hearing their stories and sharing their successes during the Awards night itself.

It’s at this point, that I should, of course, say that regardless of who wins then I’ll still be very proud to have been recognised so early post taking over the shop. But well, if I’m honest, of course, I’d like to win.

However, whatever the outcome on the night, I know I’m going to be in the fab company as the wonderful Two Sisters Cafe and Fin & Co are also shortlisted in two other categories. I suspect, regardless of the outcome, we’ll be enjoying a few glasses of Prosecco on the night and we’ll be focussing on celebrating a few months of hard work and all of our new customers too!

p.s have you voted for us yet!?!? Yep…  just one click and take two mins to help us HERE  ;0)
